Casablanca influence

I watched Casablanca last night for thr first time. I saw A New Hope in the theater in 1977 for an age reference. Somehow I've never seen Casablanca until now and in the first 5 minutes I was like "WAIT A GOD@#!& MINUTE!!"

Lucas uses the same shots, similar character builds and lots of other things from that classic.

I had never heard that before and it's kind of a lot to process at first. Then it makes total sense since Casablanca is an alltime r and im sure it's influence stretches through out movie genres.

Anybody else get smacked in the face like this?
