Could spraying someone with gas be self defense?

Let’s say you were filling up gas and somebody tried to fight you or threaten you, either like a road rage situation or something along those lines. Would spraying them with gas get you in any trouble? What about if you sprayed them and then they caught on fire? Or like you sprayed them then lit them on fire?

Just from a legal standpoint what do yall think the ruling would be for each of these situations. I know it’s kinda stupid but just figured to ask
