Hitting training puppet means you loose refund and can’t buy item back

Why the fk is riot that Moronic? I want to TEST if I still have a certain damage/crit chance/whatever by hitting the puppet MADE TO DO SO. Yet hitting it makes rebuying items etc impossible. Such a stupid design thanks for the guaranteed 8 cuz I am 1 item short.
